Yes it's free but don't expect any frills like searching in your area you can search by distance but this feature is tucked away in another area.In the early days it was quite good and I met a couple of women on there but the lack of local search facilities killed it for me.Yes there's the usual censorship of your personal mail.You are always guarded in what you want to say as you know someone else is reading it.You can put your phone number on there but no personal email.
In summary, I would not recommend Book Of Matches to a friend.
