5 Ways to Save Money with Online Dating Websites

The economy’s not exactly thriving at the moment, and with so many piling costs in life, Online Dating might not bit at the top of everyone’s To Do list. One reason for this is that membership to online dating websites can sometimes seem pricy, especially if it’s a long-term investment. However, all things considered, isn’t it worth a few dollars each month to find someone special?

If you’re interested in online dating, or are already signed up to an online dating website, but don’t want to break the bank, read on. We’ve some great tips to help save you money….

1: Change your package

This might seem really obvious, but so many people sign up for a dating site and then never check their options again. Sites can offer regular sales, or packages for different prices. It might even be worth upgrading or downgrading your package, to gain the benefits of different features or to get rid of the features you don’t really use. Take a look at what the site’s offering now and again, because you could be paying a little more than you ought to!

2: Give the free trials a go

Whilst free trials are usually quite limited (often in terms of how you can communicate with members), it’s still worth giving them a go. This will give you a sense of whether you enjoy using the site and whether there are any members you might wish to chat to. If you don’t enjoy it, move on – you’ve lost no money! You might also want to try sites which offer very short-term membership (such as a full 3 day membership for a small fee, often around $5). But remember to cancel at the end of this period if you don’t wish for it to continue, as some sites will charge a full monthly membership fee afterwards if you don’t.

3: Invite friends

One great way of making money or receiving a discount on your membership, is to invite friends to join the site. This isn’t offered by all sites, but a decent number of them have a rewards package, so investigate it.

4: Look for free dating websites

Free dating websites exist! They usually don’t have the same number of quality features, and customer services might be limited, but if you’re strapped for cash then they’re a useful back-up to paid services.

5: Try another dating site

If a site’s not working out for you, or you can’t afford its fees any more, look for another dating website. There are so many to choose from, you’ll almost certainly find one which suits your budget. Our reviews contain a list of prices for each site, so that’s a great place to start.

The lowdown

Even before you go on a date (wine, candles, expensive dinners and so on), dating can be an expensive process. Thankfully, most dating websites offer a range of packages and options to suit a range of budgets and needs. Take a look for one which suits you, and which you can afford, we’re sure you’ll find a cash-happy option.
