I have used Lavalife on and off for about 5 years. I've found considerable improvements in their IM technologies and user interfaces. If you're a guy whose looking for something more discrete this service is not for you. You're better off slipping away to a local bar in the hopes of getting lucky. For good reason women on here don't trust quick, pushy IM'ers who want to get on a date fast. You need to be a serious im chat addict to last on here since there's way more desperate guys on the service, especially the "intimate" section. My impatience led to no actual meet-ups in the five years and hundreds of dollars I've spent on the service. They suckered me much in the same way the porn industry has out of much of my hard earned money. I probably need to seek counselling now for this and other issues. Anyways, if you're a guy and you're impatient with Lava and you're about to go out and hire a hooker, get off the service! It's not worth it.
 In summary, I would not recommend Lavalife to a friend.
