Date Match seems to target a twenty-something
demographic. This site is on the sexy side of mainstream. We
found our share of "general daters" here but the site also
caters
to the sexual encounter group of internet daters. It's an
up-front atmosphere and if you're into a site that features this
combination of traditional dating elements mixed with a little steamy
action then this site may suit you very well.
The
welcome page
shows a handful of beautiful people with youthful model-like looks.
It's a slick and modern styled site. You're taken
directly
to the registration process which is simple
and convenient. After the password process is handled, you are shown what search options and general
features are available. DateMatch is feature packed and is geared for Premium
membership. You can get a little taste of what's available
through a free membership, but the site is constructed for a paying
membership with nice, modern, useful features.
Our
search
turned up a large number of listings all from our local area.
We
were happy with the number of available locals from a fairly general
search. The number of members posting photos was not
as
impressive and surprisingly low - only about 20%. The quality
of
the photos posted was very good, with enlargements available with the
click of the mouse. Free members can post up to five pictures
with premium topping out at 15.
The
listings generated by our search gave us the
location of the member as well as their age, weight, height, and what they're
looking for, all made available on the face of the listing.
Within the listing is a good profile area with the pertinent info well
arranged for easy viewing. This neat layout make it quick and easy to browse the basic info of many members. On other dating sites, this can be a tedious, unproductive process. DateMatch's
designers have clearly spent time devising a user-friendly layout.
At this point you
can
opt to send a 'Wink" and hope to be contacted by the "winkee" or dive
into a premium membership - which isn't very costly - to make direct
contact. Free members may respond to
premium members' e-mails but may not initiate contact.
The Premium features are impressive. DateMatch's options
for
direct communication include an Instant Messenger, video chat room with
private options and of course e-mail. Their other nice
features
are a Block members option for maintaining control over who
is
allowed to contact you, along with a Hot List folder (for
your
faves). There are no truly "special features" available
but sites with those options are usually at the top of the pricing
structure.
Our favorite DateMatch feature is the Matchlist feature: it analyzes profile data and shows to what extent your answers agree with those of other members. This agreement is represented as a percentage, like many compatibility tests. We like these kinds of features as they help to speed the process
of
sorting matches and get things moving quickly. It's as much
a
psychological lift as it is a physical assist in our view.
Anything that induces members to get involved is a desirable feature on any dating site.
All
in all DateMatch
gets good marks from us in terms of what it provides
for Premium members at a reasonable price. For Free members
it offers about the same as most of the better sites. We'd like to see
better access at least on a limited basis, but frankly we say that
about all but our very favorite sites. In fact, that's one of the
things
that makes our top dating sites rank so highly; they do the little
things
and the big things well and that translates into good
membership numbers, more involved members and an active site.
We
think that the service offered by DateMatch represents reasonable value for money for premium members. They're not one of
our top ten sites but they're a cut above the average ones. So if they appeal to you, they are definitely worth trying out.
